About
Rupp Family Construction began in 1986 as “3 R’s Handyman Service” with Charles Rupp. The business operated on a referral basis only, seeking to provide quality and honest contractor services to friends and neighbors. This goal soon proved to be short sighted, as it became obvious that the services provided were in great demand. Since those first years, the business has grown into Rupp Family Construction, a thriving business, offering a variety of contracting services.
In the beginning, Charles ran the business as a sole proprietor with his youngest son Garrett as the willing “assistant” at seven years old. In 1997, Charles, Ken, and Garrett decided to pursue construction on a larger scale. By 1998, Rupp Family Construction was formed. That’s when the whole family jumped on the bandwagon. Chuck’s wife, Gail, worked on advertising and marketing. His youngest daughter, Jen, took over as bookkeeper; her husband as the accountant. Charles and Ken were project managers, while Garrett pursued a degree in business administration at Eastern Oregon University.
It has been a long road since the beginning. There have been economic ups and downs, but Rupp Family Construction is still thriving. Recent developments include a change in ownership: Ken has moved on to become a successful lumber broker and Charles retired from the presidential role; handing over the company to Garrett after having graduated from EOU with a business degree. Garrett’s college friend Jon Burch joined Rupp Family Construction as the company began to grow, and now has his place in the company as office manager and marketing manager.
The one constant is that family has always been at the center of our company. We are a company willing to work one-on-one with our customers to achieve their desired results and dreams. This includes all projects (large or small) and custom construction. We remain flexible and willing to solve problems as they occur, reducing the stress remodeling and construction can often cause.
Corporate Mission
At Rupp Family Construction, it is our belief that our customers should get exactly what they want out of their project. Just like any other purchase, it needs to be of quality. We believe that the only way to achieve these goals is through honesty and integrity. The finished project is only half the experience. The company you hire is the other half.
Here are some examples of what Rupp Family Construction can offer you:
-We stand behind the work we do.
All of our work is warranted for at least a year after completion. Also, although any appliances and products that we install are covered under the manufactures warranty, we still provide our clients with support to help with any claims they may have with the manufacturers.
-Our estimates and contracts are fully disclosed with all the information included.
This includes: Labor, Materials, and Equipment Costs; as well as Overhead and profit so you know that there are no hidden or extra costs at the end of your project. Our contracts describe the change order process and what defines a change order so that you and Rupp Family Construction both agree on what can and should be considered additional work.
-Our reputation is only as good as our last job.
We understand the importance of trust and integrity to the point that we offer you full access to our references. Please contact them and ask about our performance.
-We do not cut corners.
We will not sell you a product that we don’t believe in just to make a buck. And if you have chosen an item that has a bad track record we will speak up and help you make an informed choice about what you put in your home.
-Our subcontractors are top of the line.
We have excellent relationships with our subcontractors and they know what to expect on a Rupp Family Construction project as well as how they are expected to perform under our direction.
-Customers are our business.
It is from our customers that we draw the greatest rewards for what we do, and that is through the process of making their dreams come alive. Our approach to how we view our customers is that we want to be your contractor for life, not just when your project is complete.
It is important to us that our customers know that we are working for them, and that we want to do everything possible to make sure that their project experience meets their expectations.
-We strive to give every customers request our personal attention.
Whatever the situation is, Rupp Family Construction prides itself on putting your needs first, and making one-on-one attention available to every customer. Whether a meeting or a phone call, we want to give you the attention you deserve and listen to what you have to say.
-Communication is the key.
Communication is the number one cause of breakdowns in customer/contractor relationships. It is, indeed, a relationship. It is the nature of construction because the product is important; and so is your personal space. During the process we make it a point to keep our customers well informed. When you choose Rupp Family Construction for your project we will already have an established relationship and have met face to face.
-Customer incentives.
Profit is important to success in any business, but to us it is not as important as taking care of our customers. We like to reward customers for using us again and again, for scheduling projects for the future, today, and recommending us to friends and family. All incentives are designed to give something back to those who support us and to generally make life more fun.
